At the invitation of Chinese President Hu Jintao, Rwandan President Paul Kagame arrived in Beijing Monday May 14, 2007, kicking off a state visit to China.

During his China tour, Kagame will hold talks with Hu, and meet with Wu Bangguo, China's top legislator, and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, respectively.

Kagame will also visit Shanghai from May 15 to 16, where he will attend the opening ceremony of the annual board meeting of the African Development Bank.

This is Kagame's first state visit to China after he took office as Rwandan president. Besides Beijing and Shanghai, he will also visit Shenzhen, a booming city of south China's Guangdong Province, before ending his China tour on May 18.
